Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors, is a vibrant and joyous Hindu festival celebrated widely across Nepal. It usually takes place in March (the full moon day of the Hindu month Falgun also called Fagu Purnima on local Language), marking the arrival of spring, the victory of good over evil, and the divine love of Radha and Krishna.

After breakfast, immerse yourself in the colorful celebration of Holi, starting in Basantapur Durbar Square—an ancient royal courtyard known for its historical temples and traditional Newari architecture. Later in the day, drive about 13 km east (approx. 45 minutes) to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, where you’ll experience a more traditional and culturally rich version of the festival. Bhaktapur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies at an elevation of around 1,400 m. Return to your hotel in Kathmandu in the evening.

Depart Kathmandu after breakfast for Chitwan, descending through scenic hills and valleys along the Prithvi Highway. The journey covers approximately 165 km and takes about 5–6 hours depending on traffic. On arrival, celebrate the vibrant Tarai-style Holi, known for its high-energy color play, music, and traditional Tharu community participation. Chitwan lies in the subtropical southern plains of Nepal, at a much lower elevation than Kathmandu.
- Day 4: Explore Chitwan National Park Activities
Today is dedicated to exploring the diverse ecosystem of Chitwan National Park. Begin with a morning jeep safari to spot wildlife like rhinos, deer, crocodiles, and—if lucky—the elusive Bengal tiger. Later, enjoy a serene canoe ride along the Rapti River followed by a guided nature walk or a visit to the Tharu village. The warm, flat plains of Chitwan are rich in both flora and fauna, offering a relaxing yet adventurous day.

After breakfast, drive northwest toward Pokhara, a picturesque lakeside city nestled at the base of the Annapurna range. The 145 km drive typically takes 5–6 hours. Upon arrival, enjoy leisure time to stroll around the lakeside area, explore local shops, or relax by the serene Phewa Lake. Pokhara is situated at an elevation of about 822 meters and is known for its stunning mountain views and peaceful ambiance.
- Day 6: Sunrise from Sarangkot & Pokhara Sightseeing
Rise early for a short drive (30–40 minutes) to Sarangkot (1,600 m / 5,249 ft), a popular viewpoint offering panoramic sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later, explore Pokhara’s key attractions including Phewa Lake with a boat ride to Barahi Temple, the sacred Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, the thunderous Devi’s Falls, and the World Peace Pagoda overlooking the valley.
- Day 7: Drive Back to Kathmandu (Approx. 6–7 hours | 200 km)
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Kathmandu, covering approximately 200 km in 6–7 hours via the Prithvi Highway. If time permits upon arrival, visit Syambhunath (Monkey Temple), perched atop a hill with sweeping views of the valley, and Pashupatinath, one of the holiest Hindu temples. In the evening, enjoy free time for last-minute shopping or exploring the local market.
