The Mardi Himal Trek is a breathtaking and relatively new trekking route nestled in the Annapurna region of Nepal.Officially opened to trekkers in 2012, it has quickly gained popularity as a hidden gem, offering a more serene and off-the-beaten-path experience compared to its more famous neighbors like the Annapurna Base Camp trek. This trek is renowned for its stunning close-up views of the Annapurna mountain range, including the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and of course, Mardi Himal itself.

Lying to the east of the Annapurna Base Camp trail, the Mardi Himal trek takes adventurers through a diverse and enchanting landscape. The journey begins in the vibrant lakeside city of Pokhara and ascends through lush rhododendron and oak forests, picturesque traditional villages, and along high ridges that often feel as if you are walking above the clouds. One of the unique aspects of this trek is that it largely follows a ridge, providing trekkers with continuous and spectacular panoramic views of the Himalayas.

Considered to be of moderate difficulty, the Mardi Himal Trek is an excellent option for both novice and experienced trekkers. While it doesn't require any technical climbing skills, a reasonable level of physical fitness is recommended to comfortably navigate the steep ascents and descents. The trek can typically be completed in 5 to 7 days, making it a suitable choice for those with a limited timeframe who still wish to experience the grandeur of the Himalayas. The highest point of the trek is the Mardi Himal Base Camp, situated at an altitude of around 4,500 meters, which offers an unforgettable vantage point for the surrounding snow-capped peaks.Accommodation along the trail is primarily in teahouses, providing a cozy and authentic cultural experience.
